Essays
Ever since school, I have been fond of writing. Taking a pen and putting thoughts on paper, rather than into a computer, is still my preferred way how to connect with myself and get some internal clarity.
Words affected me deeply when growing up. Being an avid reader, words allowed me to enter otherwise non-existent worlds. Literary heroes came to life and I connect with them in a more real way than with the world around me.
When thinking about what professional path to take, medicine has been an obvious choice as unlike writing, the medical profession may not be pursued as a hobby.
I still find thoughts in books to be a very intimate way how I connect with something that has been created by a fellow human being.
Vedas are an endless well of infinite wisdom that applies to any time in history. We need this timeless guidance more than ever. I consider it a privilege to be the conduit of this worldview and truly hope that my understanding would support yours.
Essays are inspired and there is no set format. Inspiration cannot be forced and creativity has its schedule. In essays, I share my thoughts on issues relevant to those who walk the inner path.
Books
Writing books take time – to get them to the reader is even more time-consuming. It requires the collaboration of many people and there is no guarantee of it happening.
I am happy to share that by the end of 2021 I completed writing my first book in English. The topic is tantra, the most misunderstood spiritual science. I love the subject and in the book share both scholarly as well as contemporary views in a form of a story. The book is currently being edited and I hope to find a suitable publisher for it soon.
At the moment, I am working on a sequel about navigating the outer and inner world of love, sex, spirituality, and wisdom.
In the last decade, I have written three books in the Czech language for an ayurvedic community.
Áhára: Nutrition is a self-help guide on the topic, both introductory and advanced. The first edition came out in 2010 and two more reprints followed. It has become a classic and a new edition is planned in 2022 by SmartPress, a publishing house located in Prague, Czech republic.
In 2016 I finally managed to publish In the ayurvedic kitchen, a book about cooking and spices. Accompanied by colored photos, weighing more than one kilogram, it has been a very ambitious process.
In between, life has presented a difficult situation when my partner got sick with cancer. His 18-month journey is documented in Střemhlav Srdcem – Headfirst with heart, a real-time written document. This honest, strong, and not easy to read book has been published in 2013.
